I have a feral pigeon who has visited me for the last 2 years. I leave dove feed and a small handfull of peanuts on my porch for her and her mate. She will let me get close to her but not touch. She comes every over day to eat and hang out to rest. When she visited today I noticed her droppings were bright green liquid with bubbles in it. She did this 5 times in the hour she was on my porch. She ate and drank while here. She looks normal and is in the middle of her mating cycle. Is she ok?

Droppings don't look good. Be careful giving too much peanuts as this can cause an impacted crop. Do you leave water out as well? If so, add some natural unfiltered apple cider vinegar to the drinking water twice a week. 5 ml acv to 1 litre of water. See if this makes a difference.

ok. Thank you. I do leave water for her and she normally goes into the yard for her grit. Is this a life or death issue? What do the bubbles mean? I have never seen bubbles in her poop.

does anyone know what the bubbles could mean? Is there any chance this is a fluke thing? She was totally normal on Tuesday. Please help. I am very worried about this.

The dropping looks like a starvation dropping. But she is eating, so that means food is not digesting as it supposed to be. Can you get probiotics for pigeons? Give the acv in the water and the next day mix some probiotics in with the seed. Slightly oil the seed so that the powder will stick. The acv creates a hostile environment for bad bacteria and the probiotics promote the growth of good bacteria. Rather focus on boosting her immunity.

Unless you can catch her and get her to an avian vet for a checkup, there's not really much else you can do for her. Are the droppings of the male normal?

I just realized this morning that her time to lay her eggs should be today and tomorrow. Normally in the past I would not see her for up to a week when this happens but her mate will come and eat. She has been coming here for 2 years so I know her routine

Hopefully it's nothing serious and she will be back to normal after she laid eggs. Skipping a day of food can also affect the droppings. Do they ever bring their babies around for eating when the youngsters have fledged?

She has a few around but none every return. I really hope this is nothing. I have not seen her today but she should be laying those eggs!! ;-) i guess i wont know for a few days. I pray she is safe and healthy.

You asked about her mates droppings. They both came by on Saturday and stayed for an hour on my porch. She did not poop at all and his looked like the green poops that I showed you in her pic. She was not fluffed at all and they both looked good. They were mating a lot. This is odd because they started mating on Feb 24th and are still mating???This would be 16 days??? Is that normal? They did not come by yesterday at all.

She might be too old to lay eggs. Some of my males keep on mating with their older females, but no eggs get produced.

she came back today and stayed for 1 1/2 hours. She ate really good but I did notice her poop is different. Now its brown watery poop with no white cap. Its literally dripping out of her as she sits. I attached photos. She pooped about 10 times in that time period. Not one single solid came out of her. I still have the apple cider vinager in the water. She seems tired but still ate and drank a lot.

They look better than the first droppings. She might have worms. Pity you can't catch her and give her a dewormer.

yay!! can I put wormer in the water?

Yes, but then they need only to drink that water for the whole day. I guess yours only come around for feeding once a day, drink water and then leave.

Mediworm from Medpet has a tablet one can give, but then you need to catch them.

Also never give Panacur (Fenbendazole) as this can be toxic for pigeons.
