Hello Everyone,
Yesterday I rescued a fledgling zebra dove that was drowning in the harbor. He seems perfectly alright, his wings are strong and he looks alert, however he is refusing to eat.
I have tried to feed him birdseed, which he pecks at but does not swallow.
His feathers are mostly developed and he can fly well.
Does anybody know what young Zebra Doves eat? And perhaps a few other directions on how to care for him properly?

Hello when I had zebra doves they ate the same food as my diamond doves. I gave them a mixed millet mixture supplemented with greens and grit. Maybe he is a baby still. Can you post a picture?

Thank you so much, we managed to feed him a mixture of bread and water which he ate of his own accord. I don't believe he is a baby, because his beak is shaped like an adults and he flies well. So hopefully I can release him soon!

That's good but bread is not very good for pigeons or doves really. Grains are much better but glad he's eating and drinking on his own.
