Let it fall off alone, do not pull. Use some antibiotic ointment on the skin to prevent infection. Keep it warm and separated from other birds in a quiet and clean place.

Is there any househole or any medicines I might have that I could use or that would work. until i get some antibiotics.

Is the lump on the outside of the crop, or does it go through, and into the crop?

Yes Neosporin Ointment is perfect, put it carefully under the bump use q-tip. Bump needs to fall alone just to prevent bleeding. Otherwise you treat it like normal wound. It is important just to keep it clean to prevent infection.
Is baby OK? Eating, drinking, pooping?

Alright I will go put the ointment on now. Yeah I just check on it its eating fine. Also its with two other babies that Im treating for canker also, like my other thread says. Is it alright if it stays in with those two, cause I don't have alot of room left to seperate another bird.
thanks for your help.

So should i put it under the bump? Would neosporne work?
I would. I think you need to apply something antibiotic to it. At least until you can get something better.

Well, it would be much better if he were alone until this thing is healed. They could peck it, or bump him or something. Besides, he would be kept quieter if he were alone.

Scott.......I really think this bird needs to be kept seperate from the other birds. You could put him in a box or a laundry basket with a towell. He need to be kept in a clean enviorment to prevent further infection. If that bump got pecked by the other birds or if he caught it on something and it got pulled off unintentionally it could start a bleed and the bird could be in real trouble. I would seperate him and put him in a quiet dark place.

Although neosporin is a topical antibotic, I think the bird should also be put on oral antibotics as well. That lump looks exactly like an infectious lump that my vet removed from one of my birds that had a bb gun wound that got infected. Does the lump look like it has the consistancy of tofu? Infections in pigeons are not like in humans, it is not a yellow liquid puss...it is a yellow solid substance.

I would really wait on putting them back in the loft.

A small cage, or as Louise has said, even a laundry basket with something on top to keep him in, would do for the bird. I know it's a little difficult right now, but it won't be forever.

Scott.......what I am trying to say to you is that the lump which was suspected to be canker and was treated as such, might not have been canker at all...but could have been an infection from some kind of injury or wound the bird received and got infected. That mass looks exactly like the infection lump I saw removed from my bird.

What does Plamenh think?............he is the real expert.

OMG WTH???? is he ok??? ok i'm done freaking out. keep him seperated from other birds and if you haven't taken him to a vet you might want to try. if you can't then clean it every day with something antibiotic - like betadine/water mix. you'll want to dilute the beta dine to look like weak tea. its easiest to do this by putting water in a glass and then putting drops of betadine in it til it looks like tea. - and and put the neosporin on it to keep bacteria and infection out. I wish you luck my friend.
