Hatching Eggs.

Ok so i just got home from work and I notice one of my Old Classic Frills is hatching. My questions for you all is, How long should it take for the baby to hatch? and how long before I should worry that it isnt hatching properly? Is it ok if I assist the baby and help it hatch? any response ASAP would be greatly appreciated.

Do not help the baby, the parents might abandon it. From what I hear it will usually take 18 to 24 hours. And I have never seen anyof mine hatch, but I hear that the parents will help after a certain time frame. But Im pretty sure you shouldn't help it, but keep a close eye.
The biggest danger, in assisting the squab in hatching, is that it won't pull the yolk sack in through it's navel.
The struggle involved in escaping the egg contracts muscles that pull the yolk sack into the squabs body.
Probably the best thing to do, even if it is hard, is to let it hatch on it's own.

Please do not interfere with the hatching, as it can go wrong in so many ways. It takes quite awhile but tomorrow you should see that fluffy little yellow chick. ;)
Ok thank you all for your responses i will check on it in the morning and hope for the best. I have a friend that told me that sometimes you have to help because they can get stuck so i though i would seek other opinions before i made a mistake. Thanks again.
I am glad you asked this question....I have two eggs I notice this morning with little pipping cracks on it. I got home from work late and there was more pipping but they weren't out. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can see the babies.
Both of mine were hatched out this morning! It was so funny seeing them stumble in thier nest. How did yours come out?
well unfortunately my alarm didn't go off this morning so i woke up late and had to rush out the door to get to work on time so i didn't have a chance to check :(. But im keeping my fingers crossed, been dieing to get some babies from them. And my Lahore eggs should be hatching pretty soon as well since they laid the same day as my Old Classic Frills.:D
