So I was watching a roller training video that suggested such birds should only e flown 5-6 months out of the year due to possible losses from hawks. Any guess why this would be true?

Do racing homers have greater problems during certain seasons?

some migrate through parts of the country, winter they are very hungry and spring/summer they are raising young, I have not had a hawk in weeks, but I expect it will get worse in the fall with the migration.
