if she doesnt sit on it my homers just layed an egg yesterday should i put the third egg with em?? or should i put the egg on heating pad and keep it worm so may b i can get the babies out
If the male that is with the female that just laid the egg doesn't consider to be mated to this bird yet, it's doubtful that he will help sit on the eggs.
You can switch the egg with one of the homers eggs if you want, but I wouldn't put more than two eggs under the homer pair.
would the heating pad idea work??
would the heating pad idea work??
No.....PLEASE don't go there..............if you don't have a PIGEON that can raise the baby, then throw the eggs out and wait for the pair to mate and lay again..........it can't be THAT important that you get babies RIGHT NOW can it? After all, you didn't KNOW that she was going to lay an egg and if she hadn't you would have had to wait anyway........
should i leave both of rollers together so may b in the next two days they will like each other and may b male can start sitting on the egg?

You can try that.......he might surprise you.......depends on how maternal he is.........

Do you have any dummy/plastic eggs? If so, take this egg in the house and replace it with the dummy egg.....in case he wants to fight or something...that way the egg won't get broke. Neither of them are going to sit very much until the second egg is laid anyway.
i dont have a dummy egg today but i can get it tomm...and they are fighting male is hitting her and kicking her out

Are these birds in a loft?
yea i had an empty loft made for future babies and was still empty i just put them there

Well, as long as she has somewhere to go to get away, they will probably settle down.
Just keep an eye on them. I really don't think you're going to have any luck with this cock bird taking to those eggs. They aren't his and he knows it. Maybe it's best if you just forget about these eggs and let them mate and lay again.
It will make life much simpler.........:)
well i guess im gonna wait till second egg is laid n see if they both sit on it if not then i'll throw it away

Good decision. After thinking about this for a few minutes..........if the cock bird continues to give her a hard time chasing her, it might be best if you separate them and let her lay the second egg in peace.
She really doesn't need the added stress of being constantly chased while her body is producing an egg. That could be hard on her and possibly make her sick.
Just keep an eye on them. Once the second egg is laid (and most likely thrown out).....then the two of them will pair up and be down on eggs in another couple of weeks.
