A friend of mine went and got some pigeons from someone idk who . He has has them three weeks now and there is one hen that walks around with her wings up and her head almost in the floor .. if he puts her on a perch she flops to the floor .. once on the floor she won't move around . She eats ans drinks ..I helped him give her some antibiotics for a week twice a day and its not helping .. I heard of drop wing or something . what is it.. and how do I treat her .. he has no clue and I'm his last hope... thanks

When they drop their wings like that, it simply means that they don't have the energy to hold them up--it's not a specific symptom of a particular disease.

That said, we need more information about what medications the bird has been given and the dosing. Can you tell us what those are and how much?

She was on cipro antibiotic twice a day at 1cc in a syrup mix .. she like doesn't move and in the nest box she like hardly moves .. when she does walk her wings are like up and out to the side ..

That could be an infection of the oviduct or even coccidiosis. I'd probably go with a Trimethoprim/Sulfa medication like Divet. Do you have any of that? Also, I'd put the bird in isolation under a heat lamp.

If you get the powdered version (100 grams), we can give you instructions for using only what you need for one bird at a time and you'll have enough medicine to treat a whole bunch of your birds whenever necessary for a long time to come. For instance, I often use a nut pick to measure out a dose for a pigeon (I can illustrate how) as though it were a spoon--works pretty well. Mind you, I usually pour it off the spoon into a small vial that I then measure the weight of with a milligram-capable scale, but I don't actually have to in order to be in the ballpark for a single bird--I just do it because I'm a perfectionist. When things are serious, I can just do it by eye and get close enough to do the job.

Anyhow, that's probably the medication I'd pick for this situation if I had only one chance to get the right one.
