Hi all,
My recently adopted female pigeon, Alice, just finished laying what I believe is her first ever clutch of eggs. There was what looks like a bit of blood on the second egg – but none on the first (see attached image of second egg). The egg was intact and I could not find any traces of blood on her cloaca. I have found some droppings in her territory that are a bit light-red / tannish, but I don’t know if that could just be from the red grit. I couldn’t find any actual blood in her territory, including no blood around any droppings. Alice has also been tail-bobbing a bit after laying her second egg.
Do you think that this is anything to be worried about?
Thanks so much,
Howard
