It's best to let the parents finish raising their kids before they are moved, because as mentioned they may give up feeding them-due to being in different place, depends on their level of tolerance to stress too.guys im getting a pair of homers with 5 days old babies including the nest box.. is that okk?
my thoughts exactly!.....I can't believe a pigeon fancier would give you a pair of birds with 5 day old babies. That's just plain stupid if you ask me, and you didn't, but still............If you can lock the parents up in a small cage they MIGHT feed the babies, but I sure wouldn't count on it. You will either wind up feeding/raising them or they will die............that's very sad. I'd love to give the person you got the birds from a piece of my mind.![]()
one thing at a time, the most important thing is these babies, you are going to have to hand feed these babies if the parent birds don't, best to get prepaird NOW. Start by reading.i know i feel really stupid and i tried calling him back so i could give these birds back so the babies could survive but he's not picking up my phone.i put the nest in the corner and the parents are standing next to the nest but i havnt seen them feeding or going near the babies and when the other pair comes down they try to run them off, o and i saw the other mating last night for the first time can someone tell me why that pair is on the side of the nest box in the corner and not inside?
well the person responsible is the one who sold them to you, you should call him and give him hell. sorry you had to learn at the expense of innocent babies deaths......sorry to tell but i went inside the loft and i see the babies are deadthey were chirping a while ago, i feel like slapping myself for getting these birds.
