A while back I had promised this pair to someone but for some reason things just never worked out, and before I knew it they where on eggs again.
Unfortunitly the eggs turned out to be infurtile, this time it seems they have gotten it right. I am sure laying during the winter (-12f) had somthing to do with it but they just don't stop laying. The first of two eggs hatched 4 days ago the second the following day, regretfully only # 2 has survived and seems to be doing just fine. >Kevin

I am just as proud, things looked well when I said good night. When I took the picture I seen that they were going to feed and had to run in the house and grab the camera, I surly did not sit out there waiting. I am going to give them some time without pictures so I will probally post On sat at 1:30:D
Beautiful birds, and adorable little baby. Congrats!

If he is not sitting, he is never more then to feet away and he has an eight foot option, that was a very rare site for me with both of them feeding in the nest box. The nest box 14x24 so when they go to sleep at night he is always right next to her. This is the first pair of pigeons I owned, they where in this mans driveway scratching for grit and I just said WOW I want some of those and when I talked with the man he gave them to me and off I went into the world of Pigeons :D I actually at first glance thought they were some kind of dove. >Kevin

I have never shipped before and I am not even sure how old the little guy needs to be to make the trip. As much as I will miss them I am sure mom and dad should be able to make the journey but should I put all three together or mom and baby together and dad on his own, I don't know so I was wondering if maybe somebody on here could answer this. I promised Tboy he could have the pair for just shipping and he will get them. >Kevin

I would be ok with it if you waited until the baby is at least 30 days old or so. He or she would be able to eat at that point??? If thats ok with you? dont rush it safe then sorry i say.

You will need to use a 4 bird box. Don't put these three birds in a 2 bird box. The 4 bird boxes come with dividers, so each bird will be confined to it's own small space.
The parents will go down on eggs again before this baby is ready to be shipped. Here's what I would do.
About 4 days before you're ready to ship them, remove the next set of eggs, which should be dummy eggs anyway. That way, Dad won't get so stressed wanting to "drive" his hen to a nest of eggs that's is gone.
The baby should be 30 days old and eating on it's own before you ship them.
