I found a Eurasian Collared Dove in my backyard, lying under a bush not moving much. As I approached her, she didn't move. I knew right away that she was injured. I carefully scooped her up with a towel over her to lessen her fear. I took her to our Southwest Conservancy for animal rescue and they told me she'd "Broken her wrist" and that it was swollen. I was grateful to have somewhere to bring her. At any rate, back home, her mother is calling for her non stop and really loud. I know she must be very worried for her offspring, but I don't know how to console her!:confused:

It's always heartbreaking to hear them calling for their offspring. Nothing you can do. They will call for another day or 2 and then give up and start laying eggs again to raise the next batch.

I hope the little one is in good hands now and won't be euthanized. Now that you are aware of the doves nesting in your garden, you can always keep an eye open for just in case another one fall from the nest.
