Found pigeon injured on sidewalk. Could not fly. Had hole in side of head. Bleeding out into eyes and possibly beak. Was trying to fly. Picked up and it settled. Shallow rapid breathing. He was looking around and trying to see where we were going

Keep him warm for now. Put him in a box with a hotwaterbottle wrapped in a soft blanket. Can you post a photo?

He's sleeping right now, I can't get a good picture of his injury. But he's still alive and his breathing has steadied. He's still bleeding a little bit. But he went to the bathroom and then fell back asleep. He had a tiny bit of water, but he hasn't eaten anything yet. When he drank the water, some blood leaked out his mouth and into the water. But otherwise he's good. Just sleeping

I hope he is still ok. If the dropping was brown (resembling a large raisin) then he has eaten recently and is not starving right now. If it was bright green, then he is producing starvation droppings. Will be difficult to handfeed a pigeon with an injury inside his beak. Hopefully he will soon start eating.

He's awake and he drank some more substantial water. He hasn't eaten anything. The droppings he left are kinda green. Idk if he can smell the food because his nose may be clogged with blood. I think the eye on the injured side of his head is not functioning anymore. But one eye still looks good. He's responding to the sound of the seeds dropping in the box, but he still hasn't eaten anything yet.

He looks young. He don't need to smell the seeds in order to eat, being able to see them will be ok. Offer him a mixture of small dove seeds. Will you be able to open his beak and check what's going on inside? Will be easier if you put him on your lap against your body. If he is not eating, he will need to be handfed otherwise he will starve. Get some frozen green peas so that you have some available just in case you need to handfeed.

All we have is sunflower seeds, popcorn kernels, and some duck pellets as far as seeds go. We'll check and see if we have the peas, idk if we do.
He's still not eating, but he did go to the bathroom again and it's still the same color.

Okay, we were able to hand feed him some frozen peas. So he got something to eat. He's been more active. We let him out of the box and he was walking away from us trying to hide and sit.

Did you defrost the peas in warm water? He will need about 100 to 120 peas divided into 3 meals of 40 each. Just keep him going until he starts eating by himself. You can also leave a small bowl of peas with him.

Keep him confined for now. A small cage on a table will be fine for him. You can cover half of the cage with a blanket to make him feel safe.

Alright, we checked on him again tonight before heading to bed and he was gone. We searched around the area for a flashlight, but he was no where to be found. He was really antsy for most of the day, wanting to get out of the box and hop across the ground. We believe he will be alright. After eating he had more energy so I think he'll be alright.
Thank you guys for all your help!

He won't be ok. To be honest, he will probably starve out there. Plse check again in the morning. He is probably hiding somewhere under a shrub.

Well look. We did look under most of the shrubs around the area. We are right next to a lawn and a parking lot, so it's mostly open space around us. There isn't much to hide in or under. But we'll check in the morning
