Found injured baby pigion on sidewalk downtown Seattle, fell from high ledge, doesn't fly yet. Last night head was shaking and body jerked like hiccups. More alert today, eyes wide open, head held up and on feet, drinking water but not eating peas. Have in large cardboard box on blanket, quiet and safe. May have chest injury and had blood around anus but today stools are brown. Should I apply something to injuries? Not sure about age but looks almost ready to fly. Put a little salt and sugar in water. Don't know where to take Walter (Pigeion) in Seattle. Advice? Pam

Keep baby warm and out of drafts. How old is the baby?

What does the chest injury look like, swelling/bruising?

Have you tried hand feeding the peas to him one at a time? He won't know how to eat on his own yet. You will have to feed him. Frozen peas which have been defrosted and warmed through under warm running water. Hold him on your lap and against your body and open his beak. Put in a pea and push it to the back of the throat. Let him close his beak and swallow. You will need to do this with anywhere between 30 and 50 peas, but not sure of his age or size, to be able to say. Can you post a picture?
