I read the cooper's article, that is what we used to do. counting on the birds learning to avoid the Cooper's. After we have our Birds, and the Cooper's acclimated to each other, the local coopers will fly over our birds and IGNORE them. since they do not consider them Prey.
But, if you are a Grackle or starling, you are screwed.
