Ivermectin can be bought at Siegels, Foys, JEDDS, and Global. Probably the most common brand of it is called 'Ivomec'.

Last time we got a little bottle of Ivomec Drench. I don't remember it being that expensive though  I've seen this at farm stores like Tractor Supply. Here's what it looks like and how much to give if you find it locally (or you could just buy it online.):

And http://www.jedds.com/-strse-513/IVOMEC-1-pct--INJECTION-50/Detail.bok

So there's all the places. Take your pick? :p

Generally, you need not worry about maggots or fly strike affecting healthy birds. They can get on sick birds or get on birds that have had a parent or sibling die in the nest. We've been doing rescues for about 15 years and I don't think I have encountered maggots more than, maybe, once.

For the usual mites and lice, we use Scatt spray or powder. You don't say how many birds you have or their living conditions but, although Ivermectin is a good drug to have on hand, you may only need something like Scatt.

Scatt is acually Moxidectin, another member of the Avermectin family as is Ivermectin. Both medications are excellent in that they will kill any blood sucking externall parasite and last longer than a spray, but sprays such as Permethrin or Sevin (Carbaryl) are the first line of defense. You could also spray the living area in addition to keeping it clean.

I think the spray that Lady Tarheel was thinking of may have been Scalex, a Pyrethrin based spray.
