two of my young birds this seasons are looners they dont fly with group,sometimes they go down early and sometimes late but exusted...... thus anybody have an experience with this type of behavior... are this good or bad

My birds that did that got killed by hawks. Those that stayed with the pack somehow survived. I think in nature predator tries to separate the prey from the pack and gets it like the way lion does.

On the other hand, those birds might be independent so maybe during race day they can break from the flock easily and head home instead of hanging with the group. In other words, there are leaders and followers. I think champion birds are leaders. They can think of their own and not blindly follow the flock. It is time to test those birds!

How long have these 2 youngsters been out flying with the rest of your birds? I had 2 yb's that did that where they would take to their own fly route and land/trap before the other yb's. They did this for about a week when I first let them out. I figured just give them some time to catch up and they'll be flying with the group in no time. By the next week they where up there with the rest of the group and actually leading the pack!

about a month.. im still confused on this birds i group tossed them a week ago and those two looners came home by them self.... before and after the pack...

They have independent thoughts! Or they are spoiled. LOL! I think they have potential, but maybe undisciplined. That would remind me of champion birds that fly victory circles and dance on the landing board before going in. You may have champion birds in the making, but need discipline. How are you going to do that, I don't know! Good luck!

I love those birds that come home before the rest. I call them "good" birds if they do it consistently.
