Hi all! I am new to this site, and found it through an article about what to do with racer pigeons when they get lost. Last year around the same time a racer pigeon (who we believe is the same friend as this time) got lost/exhausted and stayed in our yard for about 2 days. This year it's been 2 weeks and our friend hasn't shown any signs that they are going to leave. Theyve been eating seeds from weeds in our yard, along with some little bugs. We live near the river so I believe that they've been flying down and getting water from there. I was just coming on here to ask for some advice as we are stuck on what to do, especially since the seasons are changing and my mom is worried about how it will survive in the cold (especially since it gets in the negatives and gets very snowy where we live). So... What should we do? Do we convince my dad keep it? Do we take it to the vet or shelter? Find someone to rehome it?
