I saw a news piece about pigeon fanciers in Iraq.

The gentleman interviewed had beautiful birds. The were a deep rust color with furry feet. The didn't have the long feathers of show pigeons just sort of furry hobbit feet.

While looking for pics I came across your forum and thought some here might be able to tell me about this particular breed of pigeon and if it is available in this country.

Oh this makes me homesick :(

Reds weren't my favorite pigeons in Baghdad despite being the majority's favorite pigeons to fly. My parents forced me to sell the few pigeons I had at the end of 1990, right before the beginning of Dessert Storm. It was the right thing to do because we left Iraq shortly after.
