Hi I wonder if anyone can help me? My dad passed away a couple of years ago but I still look after two of his old pigeons which are just pets. One of them is around 15 years old! He has started lying down a lot and his leg is sore. He is limping a bit and stamping his foot.
I really dont want to try to catch him if I can help it.
Any ideas? Thank you

Well if you don't want to catch him then not a lot you can do.
What are they kept in?

Thanks for the replies. Will get a photo of him tomorrow and post it.

The reason I dont want to catch him is he is so old and I dont want to cause him stress.
i am not that confident catching the pigeons. As I said they were my dads.
I have managed to get up close for a look an there is nothing to see.
His nails are a bit long but I have put that down to old age.
He also lies on his perch rather than sits.
He also shakes a little when sitting.

I really think this is old age.

Thanks again

The nails being too long will cause him pain when walking and can easily cause him to limp. They need to be trimmed.
Shaking can be a sign of pain.
