ok kingston ontario here lots of snow on the ground saw my young homers are missing some breast feathers is this normal? they were born a few months ago so i guess they are going through a mold but its the middle of winter would hate for them to catch a cold! anyone know whats goin on? Thanx

just add as much protein and carbs to their diet that you can to help them grow their new feathers and add warmth as you can .. plus make sure they have no drafts in the loft to help keep them warm;)

it could be they are going thru the youngbird molt depending on when they were hatched out or it could be as Terry suggested that it might be mites so you should dust them for mites and see if the problem stops.. do you see new feathers coming in where the bald spots are or no?
