Hi,

One of my pigeon has been twisting her neck in strange way for 2 weeks. She can not fly.She can not eat or drink herself. I am hand feeding her.

Her poop is watery and colour is like soil. She is not dozy at all. But very strong and alert.

I took her to a doctor . He prescribed medicine called Erocot. I am giving her this medicin last 12 days . But I don't see any improvement.

What should I do. She is one of my favourite bird. I can't see her this way.

Thanks

What was the diagnosis from the doctor?

"Twisted neck" can be a symptom of paratyphoid which is treatable with a general antibiotic for 20 days.

The above symptom can also be associated with PMV/Paramyxovirus which requires good supportive care.

Please isolate her from the rest of the birds, if not already done.
If it is PMV/Newcastle disease, it could take a while for the neck twisting and other neurological symptoms to go away, even after the infection has run its course.
Keep up the hand-feeding till she can feed on her own.
