Hello, Im writing this for my father who really loves his pidgeon/children.

Earlier today he goes in the coop and notices His new bird has a red eye, There's no sings of mucus or any discharge, but the eye lid looks really bad :/ The birds previous owner is 92 years old, can no longer properly care for his birds but honestly its probibly the only thing keeping him alive so my father helps him a few times a week, The old mans Coops are hardly up to par, So I cant rule out sickness or agression due to over population.

Is there anything he can do, Medication/Eyedrops, or is it something that was caused by a poorly placed peck by another bird and will heal on its own as long as the environment is kept clean?

Thanks for the help!

I live in Worcester, Mass,
USA

Yes, it looks like a pretty gnarly injury, actually. Can your dad possibly take the Pigeon to a bird vet, very soon ?
