I like to let pigeons to have a bath. Can deseases be transferred from pigeon bathing like pigeon pox? I use Dettol in water so it may help to not let deseases in water.

It is possible, although disease-causing organisms are more likely to be transferred through shared food or drinking water, or by actual beak to beak contact.

I think I would use a safer product than Dettol, personally, since the birds may well take in some of the water. How much do you use per gallon?

I agree ..........I am concerned about putting anything in my birds bathing water , usually the first thing they do is swing their beaks from side to side in the water and they always seem to take a drink from it .......I usually sit and watch my birds bath and change the water as soon as I see that film of dust across the surface of the water .

I usually put ACV ( 1 tablespoon per gallon ) to their bath pan. Its help to kill the bacteria and safe to drink and makes feathers nice.
