Hi there! I am an accidental Pigeon Mom and am fostering a White King Pigeon while looking for a suitable home. He seems generally okay, but he keeps holding up his right foot, not all the time but often. I am taking a visual of hs feet, the ne he holds up looks a little swollen. He was mailed to me last week from out of state and has been and I have kept him in a cage. There is no apparent cut or blood etc...

Should I be concerned, any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Does he have a band on his leg that may be too tight?
Does he hold his leg up while roosting?
Does he limp when he walks?

Could be a few things...but if it is swelling and he favors the good leg, there's something going on...maybe a fracure, maybe soft-tissue damage.

Some anti-inflammitories wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe a splint after that....
