Hello, my friend and I rescued a white pigeon out in the horrible cold wind storm at 3am. It was outside of his work. I've got it in a big box and gave it bird seed and water (luckily we already have pet birds in my house so we had the supplies). It was found in Burlington, ON. It has a yellow leg band, BB 634 CPFA. It is beautiful. Doesn't seem to be injured. Once I got it home it was happily grooming itself and ate some food. It's a pretty big one too. I would like to track down it's owner to see if they still want it. Otherwise I have no problems keeping it :)

Looks like it is probably a white homer (homing pigeon)....probaby lost from a "Wedding release" or similar. Good for you taking it in. Someone else will hopefully help you with tracing the band. There is lots of good info and good people on this forum to help you if the owner does not want it and you will find they make great and interesting pets.

I found the owner.
The guy wasn't even excited. It was like:
*dull german accent* ok. vere is de pigeon?
me: my house
him: ok. vere?
me: (gives address)
him: do I need to pick him up tonight or tomorrow?
me: Whenever is good.
him: Ok I pick up tomorrow at 12 o clock. goodbye.

I hope this bird is going to be well taken care of even though he couldn't find his way home.

I just hope he won't put him down. If it does you might wanna ask and maybe you can keep it, or even I can keep it if you want.
