is it true that Steve Wynn, upon opening the "Bellagio," had 1000 pigeons transported from Italy to the roof (tower) of the hotel?

I have no idea if Steve Wynn had put any pigeons in his tower on the roof of the Bellagio. However I would be more than surprised if there was any truth in that story at all as it is common knowledge in this town that most of the casinos here regularlly put out poisoned feed for the pigeons as the pigeon poop is undesirable to the tourist trade. Walk the Las Vegas Strip...........you are hard pressed to see any pigeons or any other birds. Most of the pigeons that exist in this town reside in and around the parks in the residential neighborhoods.

The city of Las Vegas like most metroplitan cities today is not pigeon friendly. The law here tends to look the other way when it comes to pigeon poisioning, shoothings, glue traps and other forms of animal abuse.

Take it from an almost 20 year resident..........Vegas might be a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live here.
