Hi. One of my pigeons that I found 8 years ago recently passed away. She had green diarrhea after a change in pigeon food. The diarrhea went away after she was switched back to her original diet. Although, she did have a few days in the month with diarrhea. We had trouble buying her original food since it was not available. A month later my mom found her when she passed. My mom who was caring for her said she was eating and drinking normally the day before she passed. Nothing seemed abnormal. I’m not sure what happened. When I found her on the street eight years ago she could not fly. She had a band on her leg and the owner who I contacted no longer wanted her so I kept her. I wanted to know the average life span of a homing pigeon in captivity? Is she considered a homing pigeon by the picture? Also, what age range could she have been when I found her if she had a band on her leg?
