Someone brought me this pigeon, I'm almost sure he needs an amputation. There's still a pulse at the shoulder but not far past that. The wing, at the elbow is clearly broken and flips in every direction. There's still blood flow, I accidentally nicked his skin (it breaks very easily, with a touch) and it bled a bit. What I'm thinking of is tying off the wing as far as the blue spreads, because the wing is the left one and close to the heart obviously. I'd like to cut the blood flow off and have the wing go necrotic and fall off. Hes on .17cc baytril twice a day and .2cc metacam. Advice?

Sure there are, I can name 3 vets for you if you want. Links Rd animal hospital will take your money, so will Dr. Donai in Newmarket, and Dr Woodley in Sutton 15 min north of newmarket. What part of Toronto are u in? Let me look at pics.
I think the tying off takes too long and may cause pain. PM me.

Gail is a private licensed wildlife rescue and has Dr. Woodley in her pocket, call her and see if she will help, thanks. She is near me just east.

Is he eating and drinking?
