Leave the egg with them.

I have found out the more experienced parents, will start brooding once the second egg is laid, that way both babies hatch about the same time.

Sometimes the older stronger baby can hog all the attention and the food and the little one suffers, and can die-if no intervention.

What I have noticed with my birds. Some will sit on the first egg . Others go off and on till the 2nd egg is layed. Then start the warming process.

It's better if they wait to sit until both eggs are layed.
