Sorry I haven't been around much, but Autumn is always the busiest time both for my daughter and I, and it's difficult to get computer time.
I've also been spending more time with my brother's family (I'm a poor replacement, but at least we support each other).

All sorts have happened, including my house nearly catching fire because some idiots decided to leave a load of plasticky rubbish against it, and other idiots set fire to it. All praise to the security guards of the casino across the road, who rushed in with foam extinguishers a long time before the fire brigade made it.
I see on the news that wild fires are devastating California, and my thoughts and prayers are with those who live there.

My ex-rehab Ritchie is doing well in the park. Here he is in all his glory.

And Lawrence is all grown up now...

...but he's VERY destructive!

It's great to hear from you. Ritchie and Lawrence are both doing great, it looks like (though your chair may need medical attention!). I'm glad that you are able to spend time with your brother's family. Of course you are no replacement but it must make it easier for them and help everyone feel comforted. I'm so sorry you all have to go through such a terrible loss as that of your brother.

Oh the chair is terminal, alright! And I've got another one just like it -- courtesy of Kali... If/when they grow out of it, there's a craftsman in town who can replace the raffia seats, but meanwhile I let them do their worst!

Piper has a new cage, a really big one, meant for two parrots! I took out the original perches (too thin) and made a new one, then added a nesting box on the left, a platform with balcony on the right, a moveable platform at the front and a landing board. Given the choice, he likes standing on the landing board and surveying the world from there.
My daughter calls it Piper's Pavillion!

The accessories are updated by trial and error, and I am now considering replacing the perch for a flatter one. The idea is to have enough room and the right conditions to get him a mate. I think he fancies his chances with the new rehab, Noelle, staying in the guest cage below.
