Hello there. This is my first time in the forum. It is great to know that there are so many people who appreciate pigeons. I am keeping 8 pigeons at the moment with 2 sets of couples. One of the single males has taken to chasing the hens off the nests and standing on the eggs. He also viciously attacked one of the squeakers when she was a couple of weeks old. She survived. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas about how to curb this behaviour. I know he probably just needs a partner to love, but in the meantime he is making enemies with everyone.
Any advice?

Probably not much you can do. An odd number of sexes is usually always a problem.....especially with the males. Getting him a mate will most likely fix the problem.
If the problem bird is one male with a bunch of other males, you can fix that and if it's one male in a group of even couples, you can fix that too, BUT, when they're just ain't enough love to go around, that's a problem.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I had a male that was a terror and used 'bully bands' on him. You make them by using a clip type band on each leg with a rubber band attached to them. Its alot like hobbling a horse. It only took my male a couple of days wearing them to calmed down.
If you do try this make sure to check on him often and keep him inside the loft for his own safety.
If you you do a search on this sight for 'bully bands' you will find a better explanation.

Thanks for that. I will just try and find him a girlfriend. Maybe a chat (coo) room or something.
I will just have to keep an eye on him. I feel really sorry for him, but i need to protect the squeakers. What are the chances of the next 2 squabs being girls, i wonder.
