I was wanting to know if anyone on the forum has raced any Van Loons, specificly any from the Senna bloodline? And, if anyone has ever raced the Skylake Sions from Dr. Mike Brown. His results are pretty impressive. Chic Brooks, in Fresno, sells grandchildren from Senna for $350, which is about 70 miles north of me. Thanks for any info.
I have some Sion blood in my birds...I have been thinking of adding a Sion Hen,to my breeding loft...If I was to buy a Sion pigeon,I would go to Skylake and do that...Especially if I can get a RCH......Alamo
Dr. Brown and I have had some email each other. He is a very nice guy. He used to race out of Bakersfield about 25 years ago. He is going to have young birds available until about july.
I've been flying the same Sion family since I started racing birds, I recently purchased several birds from Skylake Sions, mainly because the pictures showed all the little traits that seem to be indicative of Sions. They are a great "related cross" with my original family, I will continue to use them when I think I need to refresh my line a little!
I have crossed with Stassarts and had success inducing some hybrid vigor, but in the main I try to stay with successful Sion strains of other flyers. Does this answer your question?
