Hello, I am hoping someone has some advice to offer or have had a similar experience. 4 days ago we found a baby mourning dove in our front yard, it must have fallen from the nest, which is too high for us to reach on the tree. We found the bird lying on the ground unable to stand up, with ants crawling on it. We took it in an gave it some hard-boiled egg yolk. Then in evening left it in a box back outside hoping the parents would do something but they ignored it completely. The baby dove did not seem interested in anything, just sleeping, so we thought it will probably die, but the next morning it was alive and we took it in and started feeding it, cleaning it. However it does not make any sounds. There is not apparent injury, other than it cannot stand on its feet or open one of the wings very wide. It has a lot of feathers but seems too young to be able to fly. It has been feeding ok, not too enthusiastic though, and if we take it out of the box back in the front yards it is actively trying to move, stand up, but cannot. Is there any hope it will grow up and survive?

Where are you located? He should be brought to a licensed rescue or rehabilitator.
He may have injuries you do not realize, or could be sick. Can you post a picture of him?

You have started 2 different threads on the same thing. Can you delete the other one, as it just gets confusing with people trying to answer to the 2 different posts, and often just repeating what someone has said on the other one.
