Yeah. It never hurts to have extra space. I'd start off with a square yard a bird.

This is a very addictive hobby. I use to have 150 fancy birds back in the late 70's. I just started 2 months ago. On my 2nd loft. But now I have homers .Went from a 2 x 2 x 4 thinking 4 or 6 birds.I just finished a 4 x 8 x 6ht. I now have 8 breeders and 9 2009's.
Plus 4 eggs with my breeders. So my opinion is do it once and do it big enough. Also on space some people say a square foot per pigeon. Others say 2 square foot per pigeon. My opinion is make it big enough.

Please keep in mind, Aaron...the the amounts recommended are for minimum sq ft.

also, more birds mean more poop to clean and feed to give... I think keeping it on the "less is best side" makes for happier healthier pigeons and loft keeper too!!:) which in my mind makes for good race birds in the long run.
