Hi.

I hope everyone is keeping well.

Can someone tell me is it possible to race young birds from the south in say a 250 mile race then as yearlings race them from the North in a 500 mile race and then the following year race them from the South West at a distance of 1000 miles?

The birds would be long distance/marathon strains/breeds.

Yes it is possible. You will have to start over the training when finish YB races in the South. You will have to start short tosses from the North and retrain the birds to home from the North. My club we race from the North on even years and South on odd years.

Sorry for the late reply Sam & thank you for your answer.

Yes i was thinking that would be the case :)

Would you know about transporting birds for training tosses?

I am building a trailer in the next month or so but was worried the exhaust gases from my vehicle might get into the trailer and poison or sicken the birds?

I have Googled this but unable to find any info on it....Maybe this issue does not exist :)
