Update on Ermintrude

Just thought I'd let you all know the latest in Ermintrude's story... we have had a happy ending:

I called my local avian vet this morning, fully expecting to have to pay an awful lot to get Ermintrude's torn crop fixed, and wondering what I'd do next (hopefully release her? Otherwise...?).

As it turns out, the vet nurse there already has a loft of pigeons and was more than happy to take Ermintrude!

So, for no cost, Ermintrude will now have a new home, where she will be safe and happy, and amongst other pigeon friends. They're going to look after her, and she'll live happily ever after.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice for my little pigeon over the past couple of weeks. I really appreciate it, and you've helped me to make sure that Ermintrude will go on to lead a long and healthy life.

P.S. There are quite a few pigeons around my neighbourhood these days, so I'm sure I'll be back before long with questions about another one, hehehe!
