Put them on the ground and everyone else will feed them. Breeders get tired of hearing sqeaks and will feed them. I dont know about weaning earlier though unless u want them tame. I wean earlier myself and my son literally pets them when they are in the yard and hes only 18months. But you can experiment. Put them on the ground then check them after feeding time to see if there crops are full or not.

I like to wean at 28 days. I think the 4 weeks thing is easiest. I do put them down or let them go down at about 23 to 24 days. This gives them time to find the food and water. I like shipping birds between 4 and 6 weeks or when they are eating and drinking on their own. I like it when they are pecking around and picking up seeds and also being pumped by the parents. This is between 4 and 5 weeks. A full crop is what they need for the two day trip.
