I am getting ready to make "new and improved" next boxes for my birds. I would like to paint them white - if this is safe for the birds. Can anyone recommend a brand of paint I can use?

Make sure to use interior paint and look for a brand that is low VOC (volatile organic compounds - the stuff that stinks). We used Gliddens. Even so, you want to air things out for several days after you can smell anything (paintwise) before adding your birds. I like to leave additional ventilation for several weeks since I know the compounds are still outgassing.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try and will air it out well. I didn't think about that. Thanks for the tip!
