Hello, I have 2 baby fantail pigeons both roughly 3 1/2 weeks old now and was wondering when I could take them out of the nest into our house. The parents are still feeding them but I think the hen is supposed to lay another batch of eggs soon.

The coop is small and there might not be enough room in future for all of them, so I was wondering when it would be okay to take them away. They are standing by themselves very often but I haven’t seen them peck at seeds. One did go exploring inside the coop and they are flapping their little wings.

Also they are little feisty babies, they slap and peck at my hand when I go near them but when I pick them up they are quite calm. Is this normal? Will they get used to me if I keep handling them?

Answers much appreciated, thank you. :)

Why don't you rather leave them and let the parents finish the job of raising them. If you don't want future babies, you can get fake eggs to swop with the real eggs. Just swop the eggs as soon as they get laid.
