Hi guys. My baby pigeon is 8 days old today and I’m just wondering, when should I start thickening up for formula I’m feeding it? (I’m using Kaytee exact hand feeding formula). I’ve still been making it pretty watery but not sure if it should be thicker yet. I’ve been using 1 teaspoon of the formula with 5-6 teaspoons of water to mix it. Tia :)

You can keep the formula the consistency of tomato ketchup for now. When about 2 weeks old, you can make it slightly thicker. When 3 weeks old, you can start adding some small seeds. At 4 weeks old you can start teaching him to eat seeds by himself and to start drinking water. You can play with the seeds and the water to get him interested. They view your hand as the foodsource and will copy what your fingers are doing.
