Dear friendly readers,
Last time when i send my birds they were attacked by a hawk. What time are hawks less likely to attack? I have 1 month old chicks who cant fly far, but up to the roof.

When I trap train and for the first few times I let them out I like to do it an hour and a half befor dark. Hopefully the hawk has been fed by then, and the birds can get a little stronger befor they meet. Make sure they are hungry so they will come in when you call.
