Hi guys!
I just wanted to stop by quickly and ask for some advice - Airbus got attacked by a cat last week and he's got a bad leg and our vets are useless! At first the vet refused to see him as he's a pigeon but eventually they agreed and I went in and saw some vet who didn't even know how to hold him properly. Anyway, she looks him over very quickly (I think she was scared of him!!) and said his leg wasn't broken but he has a deep wound on his back end and she thinks the nerves have been damaged so he's not moving it at all and he's holding it out to the front of him... Like so...

All the vet did was prescribe antibiotics for his water. Should he have been given painkillers or anything? Is there anything I can get from a pet store that will make him feel a little better? And should I try to do a bit of pigeon physio on him or anything? He seems quite able to stand on his one good leg and he can still fly so will he be able to live a happy life with a bad leg?
At the moment, he's in a large pet carrier in the house, sitting on my old jumper, stuffing his face with seed and digestive biscuits. He seems perky and bright eyed, although he does spend most of his time lying down.
Anything you could tell me at all would be greatly appreciated. I live on an island with very few vets and my only other option is a really rather expensive and long trip to a proper avian vet. Airbus is a little star and I just want to make sure I'm doing all I can for him.
