Hi everyone,

I have noticed that one of my ferals that I feed is holding her head and neck backwards and her chest forward. Today she didn't eat much and I'm concerned. What could this positioning of the head mean? Any feedback would be great, I'm afraid she might be in pain. If worse comes to worse I'll take her to the vet but before that I'd like to know what you out there think.
Thanks so much.

Could you catch the bird? It is definitely in need of human intervention and may eventually sucumb. Twisted neck can be a symptom of paratyphoid which would require antibiotics, however, it is also a symptom of PMV which would require some supportive care. We can better help you determine what it might be when you catch it and are able to check it over thoroughly.
